RAIN/GRAIN

2020 has been bleak year, obviously, and I wasted a lot of it indulging in anything that would keep my mind off of the fact that the outside world is not what it used to be. This, of course, is not entirely true. Yes, there is a pandemic that doesn’t seem to be easing up anytime soon. Yes, there is a culture war that is stronger than it has been in decades. Is any of this new? No. Maybe for us, now, but humans have been through plagues, through wars and shifting ideologies. We persevere. We have to. Its time to embrace the way things are. Notice them. Do what you can to cope, at the very least, but more importantly use it as a time for personal growth. Once you have yourself where you want to be, turn that focus towards your community.

I am trying to focus on centering my mind, being more aware of the current moments, enjoying what I have now because we don’t know what is on the horizon, or what isn’t. This particular weekend brought bad weather. No outside hangs with friends. Just gloomy darkness. I decided to embrace it.
